Village organisations are established by the Project to ensure a transparent and effective grassroots governance system. Village organisations are acting as contact points for the project and facilitate decision-making of their community members through the organisation of plenary village meetings and monitoring of financial transactions. COSFOM is adhering to principles to Free Prior Informed Consent (FPIC) during all planning procedures. A total of eight FPIC procedures are defined in the project guideline.
Water Resources Conservation Group (WRCG)
In each village one Water Resources Conservation Group (WRCG) is formed to represent their community members during all project related works. Each household inside the village is registered as member, while an Executive Committee, the Water Resource Conservation Committee (WRCC) is constituted as a sub-committee of the Village Authority (VA). A detailed Memoranda of Understanding between COSFOM and each WCRG is elaborated to define clear mandate and authorities.
