The Manipur Forest Department under the Department of Environment & Forest, Government of Manipur is the Project-Executing Agency (PEA) responsible for the implementation of the Project.

A Project Steering Committee (PSC) consisting of Commissioners and Secretaries as well as the heads of relevant line departments supervises the overall progress of the Project through annual meetings as the highest decision making body within the Project.
A registered autonomous society named Community Forestry & Watershed Conservation Society, Manipur (CF&W CS-M) acts as Project Management Unit (PMU).

GFA Consulting GmbH as implementation consultant provides advice and support in project management and planning according to KfW procedures, operations, and Monitoring & Evaluation.

A Divisional Unit (DPMU) is established at each of the two districts Kangpokpi and Ukhrul headed by a District Forest Officer (DFO).
A District Coordination and Convergence Committee (DCCC) is established for smooth coordination and convergence with other government initiatives, and fund allocation.

Within each DPMU, Field Support Units (FSU) are created comprising of a Range Officer, Beat Officers, and facilitating NGOs/Community mobilizers.

Partner NGOs

At present, five partner NGOs are contracted for Ukhrul division with support provided for 25 project villages:

  • Citizen Alliances for Re-Empowerment (CARE)
